On May the 16th 2017 Dr. Emily Chenette followed an invitation of the RIGeL Graduate Colloquium Group and visited the University of Regensburg. As editorial manager of the FEBS Journal, Cambridge, she was the right person to give a talk about „Science Publishing: A behind-the-scenes look at the publishing process and editorial careers”. She addressed her very enlightening talk to a huge audience of students, PhD students, postdocs, as well as senior scientists. The audience gained insight into her daily work as an editor, learned from her what needs to be taken into account while writing a paper, and was informed by her about the jobs a scientific journal has to offer to scientists.
