The MEE summer school 2013 took place on the 11th of July from 9.00 am to 6.00 pm at the University of Regensburg in the Faculty of Biology. After welcoming the participiants of the summer school Dr. Matthias Erb from the Max-Planck-Institut for Chemical Ecology in Jena presented a talk about below-ground insect-plant interactions: "Chemical Signals as Determinants of Root-Herbivore Interactions". After the cofffee break presented the PhD students of MEE their talks in three sessions during the day. The summer school finished with the poster session with snacks and drinks.
