On the 13^th of July 2017 we could finally celebrate the 5^th RIGeL Day in the area of the new biology building. Such in the last 4 years, also this year on the RIGeL Day the weather was on our site and only on this one day in that week it was sunny and warm. Around 100 PhD students, Faculty members and students visited the summer party of the Graduate School with barbecue and drinks.

After a short official part with a welcoming speech of the dean of the Faculty, Prof. Dr. Thomas Dresselhaus and a brief introduction into the PhD program of RIGeL by the Managing Director, Prof. Dr. Gernot Längst, the RIGeL Organizing Groups presented their activities and motivated new PhD students to participating.

Thanks to the diligent help of the PhD representatives and some other PhD students behind the grill, who perfectly coped with the big rush, nobody was left hungry.

Instead of table soccer, this year a KUBB game was organized by the PhD representatives. Several lab-teams had a lot of fun by playing the Viking game against each other.

Many PhD students, Faculty members, Alumni and friends of RIGeL let the day end with delicious food and drinks and with nice conversations.

We would like to thank all the helpers, especially the PhD representatives and other PhD students, who made this event possible!

We are looking forward to the 6^th RIGeL Day next year!
